Get a free survey and written quote

Tell us about the job in the form below. We will arrange a free survey, or work from your drawings, and send you a written quote with the unit, the lead time and the sizes your builder needs.

Book your free survey

We’ll visit, advise and provide clear written sizes for your builder.

Free survey. No obligation.

A dining room in a rear extension lit by a flat rooflight, garden doors open to the lawn

After you send the form

  1. We get in touch

We reply to arrange a survey at a time that suits you, or ask for your drawings if the build has not started yet.

  2. The survey

We look at the roof and the room, the covering, the structure and the access, and check the planning position for your address.

  3. Your written quote

It names the unit, its glazing, the expected lead time, what we need from your builder and everything that is included.

  4. Sizes and order date

If you go ahead, your builder gets the kerb or opening size in writing and we agree the order date against your programme.

Helpful to have

What to tell us

You do not need to know which rooflight you want. A few details help us come prepared:

  • What the room is and what you want from the rooflight: light, a view of the sky, fresh air
  • Whether the roof is pitched or flat, and what it is covered with, if you know
  • Whether this is part of an extension or loft conversion, and who your builder or architect is
  • Any drawings, and the date your builder expects the roof to be ready
  • Photos of the roof and the room, if it is a replacement or a retrofit

If it is easier, message us on WhatsApp with a couple of photos and we will take it from there. There is no obligation at any stage.

In writing

What your quote includes

  • The rooflight by maker, type and size, with its glazing and energy figure
  • The expected lead time, and when we would place the order
  • The kerb or opening size your builder needs, where they are forming it
  • Structural work, making good and the inside finish, and who does each
  • The access we have allowed for, from a tower to scaffolding or lifting
  • Building Control notification, where the work is notifiable
  • Our 10-year workmanship guarantee

If something could not be seen on the survey, the quote says so and explains how we would handle it, so the figure you plan around is the figure you pay.

The visit

What the survey involves

A survey usually takes less time than people expect. We look at the roof from outside, and from the loft or the room below, measure the opening or kerb if there is one, and note the covering, the pitch and the access. We talk through what you want from the room and show you the options that suit it. If your builder can be there, so much the better: the kerb size and the order date can often be agreed on the spot, and we confirm both in writing afterwards.

Mid-project?

If your build is already under way

Say so in the form, with the date the roof will be ready. We prioritise the kerb size and the order date, because those are what keep your roofer and plasterer on programme. Our working with your builder page explains exactly what we send and when, and our costs page explains what moves the price.

Your details

How we use what you send

We use the details in the form only to respond to your enquiry, arrange the survey and prepare your quote. Our privacy policy explains what we keep, for how long and your rights over it.
